What is an escape room?

An escape room is a live adventure game in which players are locked in a room and have to use elements of the room/story to solve a series of mental and physical obstacles and escape within the set time limit.

How do I get out?

Solving all the mysteries, piecing together the puzzles and completing the challenges will eventually reveal the secret to escaping! Using teamwork and communication is key.

Do I have to book in advance?

Booking in advance is highly recommended as it guarantees your preferred slot. Bookings are easy on our website using our scheduler here or you can book via email: rockescaperooms@gmail.com. However, if you happen to stumble across us and a member of staff is present, we will try to accommodate you at the next available time slot. 

Am I clever enough?

Of course! The games require no previous knowledge of any specific topics.

Is there an age limit?

The minimum age is at the discretion of the parents/carers, however we advise no younger than 8 as there are some clues that require knowledge of maths generally taught after that age. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by one adult. If you’re booking with children we recommend ‘The Box’ as its more interactive and not as adult themed as ‘Room 83’.

What are the minimum and maximum numbers of players per group?

Both games hold a maximum of 5 players.

If I have a group too big for one room, can I adjust the time of the second game so that it runs at the same time?

Yes, as long as there is sufficient time space to do so, please contact us via our facebook page or www.rockescaperooms@gmail.com and we can do this from our side very easily.

Is there air conditioning for the summer months?

Yes, both games have good air conditioning installed.

What language is the game in?

Both of our games are in English, however we are working on a Spanish version. It’s important to note that only a basic grasp of English is needed to understand most aspects of the game and we can help with any language or communication issues within the game.

Where are you?

Go to the Location page, there are directions for walkers and drivers there as well as a map.

What do I need to bring?

No need to bring anything special, all equipment needed to escape is provided before or during the games.

Is there anything prohibited?

We don’t take people’s phones away from them but we do ask that pictures are not taken so as not to reveal the secrets of the game. We also ask that no excessive force is used so as not to break anything within the game, all obstacles can be overcome without this.

When do we need to arrive?

Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled start time.

How do we pay?

Currently we are only accepting cash payments (either £ or €) on arrival of your booking.

What if we need to cancel after booking?

If you need to cancel after booking a time slot online, please contact us at the very earliest possible opportunity as we can re-open your time slots for other players. There is no cancellation fee but a courteous message to inform of us of a no-show, even if it’s an hour before your time slot, is still appreciated.

Accessibility and special requirements

Unfortunately our games are based on the first floor of a building with solely stair access (approx 15 steps) with no lift or wheelchair access. Once on this floor, all our games are on the same level. Unfortunately, the toilets do not have disability aiding equipment.

Very few aspects of our games require physical movements but we do recommend at least one member of your group does not have mobility problems. We also recommend that at least one member of your group does not have hearing problems as there are some audio based clues in our games. The majority of our clues in our games are visual and so it is recommended at least one member of your group does not have sight problems.
